The scenario is this: working on set, we have 2 Alexas transmitting via Trade Bolt (a 3000, and a 2000). One receiver comes to my DIT cart, where I have BoxIO LUT boxes being managed by Pomfort LiveGrade. There, I apply a Show LUT that we created, and that signal goes out to video village. We are not doing much actual live grading, so it’s usually just the LUT, and that’s it. At the same time, to streamline set and have less cables running back and forth, we have a separate Teradek receiver on the DP’s monitor. The receiver on the DP’s monitor applies the exact same Show LUT (I copied it over myself) that I am applying on my cart. Here’s the problem: It’s the same LUT, but it’s not being applied correctly when it is applied by the Teradek Receiver. Learn more about it in the article Parallel Offloading. Audio files can be backed up within the audio wizard just as any other file type.

I’ve compared the feeds, as well as applying the LUT onto footage after the fact through software and ignoring all the hardware in question, and have determined that the Teradek is taking a Legal signal in, applying the LUT, and then converting to Extended before output, making the image more contrasty than it should be. To ingest audio files into Silverstack click the Offload button in the upper left corner of the UI and choose the card or folder with the audio files to be offloaded. My LUT boxes are set up as Legal to Legal, and this matches the look of the footage through the dailies pipeline. (Without going in to all the details of how everything was tested, I know the issue is not the DP’s monitor and not my monitors.) If I set my LUT boxes as Legal to Extended, what I see matches what the DP sees, but does NOT match the footage as it heads through the Dailies pipeline.

Using Lattice, I tried (knowing that chances were the conversion would not be quite correct) to apply a a Full to Legal conversion to the Show LUT. In our professional opinion, there is nothing better than D2 steel. When it does come time to re-sharpen, the blades will hone to a razor edge. The blades are heat treated to a 62 Rockwell hardness and are guaranteed to retain their factory edge for extended periods of heavy use. D2 Steel is extremely tough and durable! The high chromium content provides good corrosion resistance, (but it can and will rust if it is not properly taken care of). D2 steel is commonly used in the machining industries to manufacture dies and punches that repeatedly cut other materials.

Signature Outdoor Series - D2 steel is an air hardening, high carbon, and high chromium tool steel possessing extremely high wear resisting properties.
